A two bedroom house with loft and separate studio/guest cottage for a couple who desired to capture views of Hill Country sunsets.  A simple barn-like structure containing the main living spaces creates an aperture that frames the sunset view. Due to the challenging nature of capturing sunsets through a large glass opening, roof and perimeter walls extend to create a shroud to shade the inset window wall, and a large metal mesh curtain can be drawn to diffuse glare and heat when needed.
